Mitochondrial genome diversity in dagger and needle nematodes (Nematoda: Longidoridae)
Dagger and needle nematodes included in the family Longidoridae (viz. Longidorus, Paralongidorus, and Xiphinema) are highly polyphagous plant-parasitic nematodes in wild and cultivated plants and some of them are plant-virus vectors (nepovirus). The mitochondrial (mt) genomes of the dagger and needle nematodes, Xiphinema rivesi, Xiphinema pachtaicum, Longidorus vineacola and Paralongidorus lito...
متن کاملThe who, what and where of longidoridae and trichodoridae.
Longidoridae and Trichodoridae represent the only families of nematodes within the Class Enoplea proven to be plant-parasitic. The Longidoridae are classified within the subclass Dorylaimia (order Dorylaimida, superfamily Dorylaimoidea), while the Trichodoridae belong to the subclass Enoplia (order Triplonchida, superfamily Diphtherophoroidea). Longidoridae: The family Longidoridae includes som...
متن کاملObservations of All Postembryonic Stages of Xiphinema coxi coxi (Nematoda: Longidoridae).
Initial morphometric data and descriptions of males and the four juvenile stages of Xiphinema coxi coxi Tarjan, 1964 collected from soil about the roots of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) at Gainesville, Florida, and from a greenhouse microplot at Fayetteville, Arkansas, are given. Males were similar morphometrically and in shape to females and had 3-5 preanal supplements. The four juvenile stages...

Lectotypes are designated for Longidorus sylphus, L. crassus, and L. fragilis from Thorne's original specimens. Amended descriptions, tables of morphological means, ranges and standard deviations, photographs of the anterior, vulval, and tail regions, and diagnoses and relationships are provided for each of the three species to aid identification and to better determine phylogenetic relationshi...
متن کاملDescription of the Male of Ogma cobbi and Juveniles of Bakernema inaequale (Nematoda: Criconematidae).
Juveniles ofBakernema inaequale and the male of Ogma cobbi are described and illustrated for the first time. Juveniles of Bakernema inaequale lack the cuticular spines characteristic of the adults. The annules of first-stage and fourth-stage juveniles are smooth, whereas those of the second-stage and third-stage juveniles have faint, bead-like ornamentation either throughout the body or in the ...
